Where I Stand On The

Issues

Focused on the issues that matter to District 65B

  • A Downtown That Works for All of Us
Downtown Saint Paul is the economic heart of District 65B, but right now too many neighbors and small businesses feel like the economy isn’t working for them. Rising rents, empty storefronts, and higher costs are putting pressure on working families, entrepreneurs, seniors, and young people trying to build their future here. As your State Representative, I will fight to revitalize downtown in a way that puts community first by supporting housing that working people can afford, investing in small businesses, and making sure development serves residents instead of pricing them out. I’ll push for state resources that help convert vacant spaces into homes and local businesses, strengthen renter protections, and ensure growth keeps pace with demand. My goal is simple: build a downtown economy that is vibrant, safe, and works for all of us, not just a few.
  • Affordable Housing For All

Families in District 65B are being priced out of their homes as rents rise faster than wages and housing costs continue to climb. I will fight to expand affordable housing by supporting new development that serves working families, seniors, and young people. I will push for state investments that help communities build and preserve affordable units, and for policies that ensure housing growth keeps pace with demand. I will also stand up for renters by supporting strong protections that promote fair leasing practices, prevent unjust displacement, and provide stability for tenants who call District 65B home. My goal is to keep our neighborhoods affordable, diverse, and livable for the people who already live here.

  • Gun Violence

Gun violence in our schools is a political failure, not an inevitability. As a state representative, I will fight for aggressive, evidence-based gun safety laws that put the lives of students ahead of the gun lobby. That means closing loopholes that allow dangerous weapons to circulate, strengthening background checks, and supporting limits on weapons designed for mass harm. I will push for mandatory safe-storage standards, real consequences for negligence, and sustained state investment in mental health and crisis-prevention systems inside our schools. I reject the idea that children should practice lockdown drills as a way of life. My position is simple: if a policy does not make our schools safer, it does not belong in law. Protecting kids comes first—no exceptions.

  • Climate Action

As a state representative, I will work to make District 65B a leader in climate action by investing in green infrastructure, renewable energy, and sustainable transportation. I will support state policies and funding that help communities upgrade energy systems, reduce emissions, and lower long-term costs for families. I will advocate for investments in clean energy jobs, climate-resilient infrastructure, and transportation options that are reliable, affordable, and environmentally responsible. My focus is on using state resources to protect our environment, strengthen our economy, and ensure future generations inherit a healthier Minnesota

  • Education & Youth

As a state representative, I will support our schools by advocating for strong, equitable state funding that gives educators the resources they need and students the support they deserve. I will work to expand youth programs that provide safe, enriching opportunities outside the classroom, including academic support, mentorship, arts, and workforce pathways. I believe every child in District 65B deserves a fair chance to succeed, regardless of their background or ZIP code, and I will focus on policies that invest in students, families, and the systems that help young people thrive.

  • Small Business Support

As a state representative, I will work to strengthen our local economy by supporting small businesses, especially those owned by women and people of color. I will advocate for state programs that expand access to capital, technical assistance, and contracting opportunities so local entrepreneurs can start, grow, and sustain their businesses. I will support policies that reduce unnecessary barriers for small businesses while ensuring fair labor standards and long-term economic stability. My focus is on building an inclusive economy where local businesses can thrive and communities across District 65B share in that growth.
